That One Blorbo

All of us here may or may not have one or more characters that we favor in our webcomics, that we rotate in our minds slightly more than the other characters. We’ll borrow the term “blorbo” for whoever this is in your webcomic project. But webcomics take time, and telling a compelling story might make it so that you go a couple scenes (years) without that exciting blorbo. So let’s talk about that itch, that compulsion, because it can be a major motivating factor that keeps you fueled in your comic journey, but it can also be a roadblock when you are making parts of the story without them!
Webcomic Platforms

Depending on the scope and needs of your webcomic project, a webcomic platform can be a great addition, or alternative, to an independent website. Many platforms have come and gone across the years, but today in 2026, the most well known options are Webtoon, Tapas, and Comic Fury. Having a good space to make your webcomic is one of many things that can set you up for a healthy comic making habit, and if you haven’t thought about it before, we hope we can get you to start!
Community and Comics

A lot of webcomic creators think about maintaining a place for our readers to connect with each other, and enjoy our comics and other art. This might be the comment section already built into your host, a Patreon or YouTube comment area where folks can look at your side content and chat, or a real-time chat space like Discord or Twitch. They’re all a little different and can attract all kinds of attention, good and bad, so we’re going to dive into what that looks like.
Receiving & Processing Critique

Webcomics have a lot of moving pieces, and constructive critique can be an excellent way to troubleshoot those pieces or get around road blocks. We understand that it can be scary to ask for a critique of your work, but learning how to receive and process critique can help you, and your webcomic, to improve and grow. Today we're going to talk about how to be on the receiving end of critique.
